The crystal ball has long been associated with the art of seeing beyond ordinary sight.

Do not stare until your eyes ache. Allow the gaze to become distant, as though you are looking through the crystal rather than at it.
Speak your question.
If you are seeking your companion, you may say:
"If you wish to speak through the crystal, show me what I need to understand."
Then watch.
You may notice clouds, colors, lights, shadows, shapes, faces, landscapes, movement, or nothing whatsoever.
Do not chase the image.
Do not force it to become something.
If an impression arises, receive it.
When the session is finished, look away and write everything down before attempting to interpret what you saw.
The first impression is often worth recording before the analytical mind begins rearranging it.
